Cenote Zapote

This one is not for everyone: with an impressive entrance, a dark room full of nightmarish formations, Cenote Zapote has a lot to offer, but only to the bravest!
Starting with what looks like a small entrance, the cenote opens up to a huge chamber full of "bell shaped" formations, the only ones in the world created underwater!
A cloud of hydrogen sulfur and a dead tree await for you at 30 m, adding to a strange, spooky atmosphere.

Cenote Maravilla

Cenote Maravilla is visually stunning! From a circular opening in the ceiling one enormous celestial light beam penetrates all the way to 30m/100ft where it strikes the thick sulfur cloud, lighting up the whole cavern. Extend your hand into the cloud to see patterns swirl around it.

Swim out of the sparkling lights towards the darker edges of the cavern, over 90m/300ft in diameter and approximately 60m/200ft deep. Getting close to the edge you will see small hells bells like that of Cenote Zapote half hidden in the cloud.

Witness the difference in light as a cloud passes over the sun. A great place to bring your camera.
